RIO GRANDE -- Members of Chaos, a local gang known for donating food to random strangers, are accusing a local bar owner of trying to poison them.

The incident took place on March 27 at Suni’s bar, an establishment ran by Sunisa Minoptra of the Xoco.

“Well, Chaos decided to have a birthday bash for me today at Suni’s. First, Sunisa was, like, way late for her shift. Then, she wanted me to pay for the tab of the hordes that showed up. Then, she poisoned our drinks,” Stephen Shieldmaiden of Chaos told the Amazon River Sun.

Amber Shieldmaiden, Stephen’s wife, said he’s lucky to be alive.

Shortly after consuming drinks that Stephen said were served to him by Minoptra, he began “falling about the place.” The Shieldmaidens said that Ozi and Chaos member Mila also experienced these symptoms.

“She waters down her booze and the place is infested with rats, trash all over the place," Stephen added.

Minoptra denied the allegations.

“Why the fuck would I want to poison them? I'm trying to run a business and make a future for me and my unborn child,” Minoptra told the Sun, confirming rumors she is indeed pregnant.

Minoptra declined to say who the father is and refused to allow the Sun publisher to throw her an amazing baby shower, which would have been extravagant and fun for all who were invited.

But no…no shower.

Minoptra said the allegations are making it hard for her to earn a living as a single mother and sole proprietor of a drinking establishment.

Silvia Mertel, another Xoco, suggested that Stephen just can’t handle his liquor, a charge that Stephen denied.

Minoptra suggested that Amber had tried to poison Stephen as part of a plan to end her marriage and take control of Stephen’s S.A.L.T. business. However, that wouldn’t explain why Mila and Ozi experienced the same symptoms.

Amber said she had not been poisoned herself, but she had brought her own glass of wine out of concern for the health standards at Suni’s bar.

Adaginna Voxel, half-owner of the upscale Dee’s Lounge, suggested the poisoning may have been a mistake.

“Did you get the liquids mixed up? Poison goes for the rats not the customers,” Voxel said, adding that none of the customers at her bar ever got poisoned.

Stephen agreed it was a possible that the poisoning was a mistake. He said it was an unusually busy night for the bar, and Minoptra was likely disoriented as a result of her pregnancy.

Baby showers are shown to ease many of the unpleasant, disorienting aspects of pregnancy, but Minoptra has refused to allow the Sun publisher to throw her one.

Stephen said he has sent his glass away to be tested and is expecting the results in the coming weeks.
