RIO SOLIMOES — The Tapirape tribe were dancing furiously Sunday in celebration of the return of their mojo.
Tapi Shaman Whispering Wind told the Amazon River Sun that the idol had been missing for some time.
“Very long. I cant even remember when we last had it,” Wind said.
Her husband, Catten Carter, who is also a member of the Tapi, said the tribe never stopped worshiping the idol and were thrilled when they happened to stumble upon it.
“Suddenly we came upon it in a hidden place in Tanana. No wonder no one saw it. It was very well hidden,” Carter said.
Wind said that she worries now that others will come for the coveted item.
